ST. PAUL, Minn. – The state Health Department announced that patients registered in Minnesota’s Medical Cannabis Program will be eligible beginning August 1 to buy cannabis chews and gummies from state dispensaries t. An advance consultation is required, said Jan Malcolm, state health commissioner. The only southeast Minnesota dispensary is in Rochester, at the Green Goods store, 3456 East Circle Drive. Statewide there are 14 dispensaries. The gummies and chews dispensing system is completely separate from the recently authorized hemp-derived cannabinoid products regulated by the state Pharmacy Board.

Malcolm: “The state’s medical cannabis program continues to respond to the needs of patients, and gummies and chews may be useful options for those who may have difficulty swallowing pills or tablets, do not want to smoke medical cannabis, or don’t like the taste of other forms of medicine.”
