ST.PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz issued a disaster declaration for Winona County and other tornado-stricken southeast Minnesota counties. The declaration allows for 75% of storm losses to be covered by the state. Twenty-seven touchdowns occurred in a three-state area on December 15, knocking out power for thousands of homes and destroying trees and structures. The Minnesota disaster relief will be available in Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Steele, Wabasha and Winona counties.
