RED WING, Minn. – A Red Wing teenager was killed when her pickup and a garbage truck collided head-on two miles southeast of Red Wing. Samantha Kriese, 18, died outright, deputies said. The driver of the garbage truck Wade Dewell , 45, escaped. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The accident was on Flowers Road just before 3 p.m. Kriese was westbound, Dewall’s Waste Management tuck eastbound.
Kriese. A 2021 Red Wing High grad heading to University of Minnesota in the fall. Had summer job as swimming pool lifeguard. In high school a competitive swimmer and Nordic skiers.
