WITOKA, Minn. – The fellow couldn’t believe his eyes when he opened a safe at his house. Instead of $2,100 cash, there was $2,100 of obviously fake counterfeit money. A prank? The man wasn’t amused. He called the sheriff and reported he suspected an acquaintance. Nice friend, eh? When? The man wasn’t sure. He told a deputy the obvious — that didn’t check the safe very often. This was at a house at the far end of Winona County Road 19 near the Houston County line.
