WAUKESHA, Wis. – Three members of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies were killed when a truck sped into a holiday parade in Waukesha, the troupe announced online. The victims:
> Virginia Sorenson, 79.
> Lee Owens, 71.
> Tamara Durand, 52
In all. five people and about 40 were injured in the Main Street havoc Saturday evening. The Dancing Grannies, all grandmothers, met weekly to practice their routines. The online post said the Grannies were “doing what they loved, performing in front of crowds in a parade, putting smiles on faces of all ages, filling them with joy and happiness.”
An earlier parade. The Grannies have been making 25 events a year.
