WABASHA, Minn. — A federal lawsuit that alleges negligence and school bullying has become a pissing match. The Wabasha-Kellogg School District filed documents alleging misconduct by the boy whose family alleges that years of harassment and bullying had been insufficiently addressed, even ignored, by school authorities. In response, school attorneys now have filed affidavits that accuse the boy himself of spouting derogatory language and making fun of other students. The affidavits offered examples of school discipline against bad behavior. The student’s attorney shot back that the school had fabricated its documents and was lying. This was all at a closed hearing before a federal judge. Both agreed one thing: They told the judge they will be ready for trial in January 2027.
