WINONA, Minn. –The 21 inmates at the Winona County jail woke up Thanksgiving morning to their usual breakfast of cold cereal. The complete menu:
6:30 a.m.: Juice, milk, cereal, and coffee cake.
12 p.m.: Meat, bread, mac ‘n’ cheese, garden salad, cake, and a fruit drink.
5:30 p.m.: Bologna, cheese, bread, chips, fruit, cookie, and milk.
Dave Glithero, assistant jail administrator, said the menu was the same as any other day, albeit Christmas when there usually is something special. The meals are trucked to Winona by contractor Aramark at the LaCrosse jail.
