LACROSSE, Wis.  – Federal meteorologists have added a ninth tornado to the Wisconsin total in the violent December 15 storms. The ninth traversed a path 5-1/2 miles long northwest of Eau Claire. Winds reached 85 mph, the National Weather Service said. The  maximum width was 75 yards. Hundreds of trees were snapped or uprooted, some landing on houses. Three homes lost shingles or soffits. There were no injuries.
