STEWARTVILLE, Minn. – Six children on a school bus and their driver escaped injury in a near-miss with a semi-truck. The bus was stopped on Olmsted County Road 6 about four miles west of Stewartville to drop off children, deputies aid. The truck driver, realizing it was too late to avoid a collision, swerved into a ditch, deputies said. The truck jackknifed and blocked the road. This was a little before 1 p.m. The accident occurred beyond two 90-degree corners in the High Forest neighborhood. Deputies said there no reason to suspect alcohol or drugs as factor.
