MINNEAPOLIS – The top federal prosecutor in Minnesota, Erica MacDonald, announced her resignation. She was appointed by President Trump in 2018. As often is the custom, she and 55 other chief attorneys for federal judicial districts nationwide were asked to resign by President Biden. Until Biden appoints a successor, Assistant U.S. Attorney Anders Folk will take over supervision of Minnesota cases. The cases include many prosecutions from the civil unrest after the George Floyd killing in May 2020. MacDonald didn’t announce her plans.

MacDonald. Earlier nine years as a Minnesota First Judicial District judge, appointed by Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty. Law degree from DePaul.
