WINONA, Minn. – Eight women will show their talent and in the Miss Winna pageant Saturday in a pageant talent at the Winona Middle School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets at the door: $10. Promoter Teri Sims promised  a photo opportunity with Emma Broyles, the reigning Miss America.  The contestants:

> Mawatta Dukuly. From Blaine, Minnesota. In global studies at Winona State. Speech: “Mental Health Within College Students. Talent: West African contemporary dance.

> Kayla Mabe: From Chatfield, Minnesota. Studying to be a physician’s assistant at Rochester Community and Technical College. Speech: “Family Isn’t Always Blood: Foster Care Awareness.” Talent: Singing.

> Morgan Mohler. From Mondovi, Wisconsin. Studying biochemistry at Viterbo. Speech: “Living L.I.F.E. Limitless.” Talent: Singing.

> Mikaela Mohr. From Winona. Studying sales and entrepreneurship at Winona State. Speech: “ThinkPINK.”  Talent: Singing.

> Bailie Thom.  From St. Clair, Minnesota. Studying business education at Winona State. Speech: “Type 1 Diabetes: “Making an Invisible Disease Visible.” Talent: Flag twirling.

> Melissa Tallman. From Council Bluffs, Iowa. Studying criminal justice at Hamline. Speech: “Environmental Empathy.”  Talent: “Building a Terrarium.”

> Amelia Torgerson. From Houston, Minnesota. Studying nursing at Winona State. Speaking: “Eliminate Sexual Assault, Know Your Part, Do Your Part.”  Talent: Flag twirling.

> Kylee Zeches. From Winona. Studying cosmetology at Minnesota State Southeast. Speech: “Haircuts for Hope.” Talent: Dance.
