OSSEO, Wis. – It was a wonder nobody was killed. Police said a car going very fast missed a dead-end at a T-intersection, crashed into a steep embankment, and went airborne for 20 yards through a tree line. The driver, Denver Thompson, 29, of Osseo, and the passenger, Lisa Doyle, 24, also of Osseo, suffered substantial but non-life threatening injuries. They were taken 25 miles to an Eau Claire hospital. Alcohol was believed a factor, deputies said. The crash was about 2:30 a.m. at Durst Road and Oium Road on the south outskirts of Osseo.
