MINNEAPOLIS – The University if Minnesotan was left on the defensive when the grunge band Foo Fighters pulled out of a concert at the university’s football stadium. It had been a battle of ultimatums. Foo Fighters demanded that the university check Covid inoculation or testing documents for everyone admitted to the concert. The university said it had never done such a thing and wasn’t about to start. It was unclear who at the university made the decision not to comply with what Foo Fighters called its “Covid safety measures.”

All who attend events at our public institution, whether football fans, concert goers, or others, are treated equally and encouraged to take steps to protect themselves and others. We continue to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, wear a mask when in large crowds, and take appropriate steps to protect public and personal health.”
