MINNEAPOLIS – The grunge band Foo Fighters cancelled an August concert because the University of Minnesota refused to agree to screen concert-goers for Covid. The concert was set for the university’s 51,000-capacity Huntington Bank Stadium on August 3. The Seattle-based band blamed the university for refusing to meet the band’s safety standards. These standards were to require documentation checks for Covid vaccination or recent testing.  Foo Fighters has made these a requirement at all venues for its 2022 North American Tour. The tour, which begins July 17, has 13 events.

Seattle grunge. Inducted into Rock and  Roll Hall of Fame 2021. Twelve Grammy Awards. Best Rock Album four times.
