MINNETONKA, Minn. – The Giant health insurer United Health won’t contribute any more to political campaigns by Rep. Jim Hagedorn, R-Minn., after news reports on a pattern of what the company called “egregious and hurtful” positions. United Health issued a statement: “We regret our past contributions, and will not make any future contributions to him.” The company had contributed $7,500 for Hagedorn’s 2020 re-election, the most recent installment as in June. United Health’s turn-around followed an expose by Popular Information, an online political site edited by Judd Legum.
