ST. PAUL, Minn. – The word from Washington changes day to day, but Governor Tim Walz said his latest information is that Minnesot can expect 183,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine for the first rounds of immunization. The state’s first shipments should be next week, Walz said. He stressed that details could change if the federal government encounters unexpected  distribution problems. If there are indeed 183,000 doses, vaccination will begin for 91,500 people because each recipient needs an initial inoculation, then a booster. The first shipments fall short of the 500,000 Minnesotans whom state officials estimate meet criteria to receive the vaccine in the first phase of the program.
