ST. PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz waived restrictions on truck weights and driver hours to hasten the disposal of diseased turkey carcasses. The goal, said Walz, was to protect flocks that remain unaffected by the latest avian flu epidemic. Walz said the waivers will help fight the spread of the virus between flocks by reducing the number of trips that trucks need to make to farm sites.
