ST. PAUL, Minn. – Governor Tim Walz delayed a decision until Wednesday on whether to extend his four-week pause on allowing bars, restaurants and fitness centers to reopen. The governor’s current pause expires December 18. Walz had been expected r decide on an extension by today. Meanwhile, the Legislature convened in special session about a broad-based rescue plan for COVID-affected businesses and individuals.  A sticking-point, it appeared, was whether to extend unemployment benefits for hospitality workers. Governor Walz had favored an extension but now says he understand why some legislators are stalling to see if Congress will do it with federal funds.  “I don’t blame them for this,” Walz said. “I think legislators were looking at this and saying, ‘Well, it’s really the federal government’s responsibility to do that, which it is’”
