EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – An Eau Claire man was charged in the death of a Gilmanton man whose body was found a month after his disappearance two years ago. The warrant charges Roger Minck, 55, with hiding a corpse, delivering narcotics, burglary, and maintaining a drug trafficking place. The body of Toby Cleasby, 53, of Gilmanton, was found in December 2018 in Minck’s North Side Eau Claire duplex. Cleasby had been reported missing in early November 2018. Soon thereafter his car was discovered abandoned along the Chippewa River, That prompted a massive river search, which went on for days. After Cleasby’s body was found wrapped n a tarp at Minck’s address, an autopsy showed that died of drug toxicity and overdosing. During the autopsy, heroin fell out of one of his pockets. Minck told police he he had loaned his housekeys to someone else, but, police said, the alibi fell apart.
