WINONA, Minn. – An early report on financial backers of Winona mayoral candidates lists a $500 donation to Michelle Alexander from fellow landlord Nicole Penzkover. It is the largest donation to any of four candidates.
Michelle Alexander: In all, Alexander listed donations of $2,350 in her June 26 report, many from people with strong Republican histories. Besides Penzover:
> Tom Breza, $300
> Jerry and Pat Papenfuss, retired KWNO radio owners, $300 ($150 each)
> Michael and Jane Alexander, $300 (($150 each)
> Hugh Miller, Reinforced ThermoPlastics owner, and Ellen Miller, $300 ($150 each)
> Bob Kierlin, Fastenal founder, $150
Jovy Rockey: Rockey listed $870 in donations, including $325 in-kind. Her donors:
> Cynthia Porter, former Winona Post reporter and media consultant, $325
> Willard Kitchen, Theatre du Mississippi founder, $250
> Pat Paulson, a business professor, $100
>: Allison Quam, a Winona State librarian and School Board member, $100
Scott Sherman: Sherman said he had raised $2,839 but listed no donors.
Ted Hazelton: Hazelton didn’t file a report.
