WINONA, Minn. – Winona artist Cathy Richardson, known mostly for her glass creations, won first place in the wildlife and plants category of the Friends of the Refuge Headwaters photo contest. Her entry has a bald eagle returning to an aerie in which his partner, perhaps with eaglets, is nesting.  Richardson also placed second in the category and third in the scenic views category.
