WINONA, Minn. – Artist Betty Kline has created T-shirts with outlines of Winona-insired scenes that, with accompanying fabric markers, can be colored in. The design is Kline’s, the colors yours. The outlines include a sunset, rolling bluffs, the flowing river, and a heron. Depending on size, the shirts sell for $15 to $25  at the Winona Historical Museum on Johnson Street downtown and the Winona Visitor Center on the Huff Street causeway.

Kline: “My designs are always inspired by the rolling landscapes, abundant nature and rich color palettes that we are blessed to see every day here in Winona. I wanted this new design to not only combine some of the iconic images from Winona, but to go a step further and allow children and adults too to express their own creativity by coloring it on a t-shirt with fabric markers. The color possibilities are endless.”

Color me Winona.  Like coloring-by-number kits but creativity substitutes for numbers. Another difference: They’re wearable.
