WINONA Minn. – Running enthusiast Scott Sherman, who operates the Winona Trinona with his wife, won a spot on the November ballot for mayor. Sherman received 1,261 votes, which aced out real estate operator Michelle Alexander by three in the final count. Before mail-in votes were counted, Alexander led by a hair. Downtown art gallery operator Jovy Rockey led the four-way race with 1,654 votes. The purpose of the primary is to narrow the field to two candidates.
