ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The wayward Winona pastor Rick Iglesias spent his first night in his new home — the Minnesota Correctional Facility-St. Cloud. Iglesias, 66, arrived after being sentenced in Winona to nine years for ongoing sexual liaisons with a 14-year-old boy in his pastoral role. That was from 2010 to 2012. The 1,000-inmate St. Cloud prison is the admitting point for all adult men in the state correctional system. Iglesias likely will be reassigned elsewhere in the 13-facility system. To begin his term Iglesias surrendered a DNA sample. In prison Iglesias will undergo sex offender treatment. When he’s released, in 2030 at age 75, Iglesias will be placed on a sex offender roster for local tracking wherever he chooses to live.

St. Cloud prison. Built of locally quarried stone with inmate labor. Masonry once was taught to inmates. When completed in 1922, the prison wall was the second largest continuous wall made by incarcerated individuals in the world — after the Great Wall of China.
