DESTIN, Fla. – The Winona police dog Cleo and her best friend, sheriff’s deputy Adam Carlson, won fourth place for scent work, second for agility and sixth for overall out of 93 teams at the U.S. Police Canine Association trials. Earlier the team earned first-place overall trophy. Cleo is a high-energy Belgian Malinois 8-yea-old, when off duty, goes home with Carlson and plays alongside his nonworking pet dogs. On the jib Cleo searches buildings, tracking suspects and missing persons, and locates narcotics. She also detects narcotics.
