WINONA, Minn. – A supervisor discovered pain-killers missing in a routine inventory at the Lake Winona Manor nursing home in the Winona Health complex. Police classified the case as theft. Missing was the prescription-only drug gabapentin, which is used to prevent seizures and also as a pain-killer. Misused, the drug can cause fatal breathing problems.
