SWAN LAKE, Mont. — A Wisconsin man was killed when his motorcycle struck a black bear on a northwest Montana highway. Bruce Immel, 66.of Fond du Lac, was thrown from his bike. He died 100 miles away in a Missoula hospital. The Highway Patrol said Immel was southbound on State Highway 83 when the bear crossed in front of him. Immel was not wearing a helmet, the Patrol said. A game warden found the injured bear and shot it.
