MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin faces an impending crisis as coronavirus cases rise and overwhelm hospitals, Governor Tony Evers said. Hospital beds are 84% full, as well as 87% of intensive care unit beds, Evers said. The latest daily tabulation had more than 5,000 new confirmed cases for a total of more than 200,000 in a state of 5.8 million people. The ratio: almost 1:30. The state’s death toll rose by 64 in the daily update, pushing the total to 1,852.
