GREEN BAY, Wis. – Covid-stricken State Senator Andre Jacque has been moved to a ventilator so he can breathe. The senator was in stable condition, a spokesperson said, but added: “The days and weeks ahead will continue to be an incredibly stressful and difficult.” Jacque, age 40, went to the hospital August 17 for pneumonia and tested testing positive Covid. Jacque, R-DePere, has been an outspoken opponent of Covid vaccine and mask mandates. In April he proposed a law to forbid merchants from asking customer for proof of vaccination. Before being hospitalized, Jacque had testified maskless during a committee hearing in Madison. He was asymptomatic at the time but aware that he had been exposed to the virus and was a potential spreader.
