WINONA, Minn. – Thirteen new Covid cases brought the number of “confirmed” pandemic infections in Winona County close to 5,000 – 4,965 to be precise. Including “probable” case, the total was 5,039. There have been 52 deaths. Vaccinations are slowly increasing in the county, with 54.1% of the county having received at least one dose of a Covid vaccine. Receiving the full vaccine series: 51.3%. The county lags the state’s vaccination rates, 59.1% with at least one vaccination and 55.4% with a full vaccine series. The state Health Department’s s age breakdown for the county:

> 65 or older: 93%.

> 50 to 64: 70%.

> 18 to 49: 48%.

> 16 to 17: 56%.

> 12 to 15: 53%.
