NELSON, Wis. – a woman was shot and killed at a rural house near Nelson, Sheriff Michael Schmidtknecht said. Deputies were alerted to the death by 911 call from a man about 9 p.m. Deputies found the women dead. The caller, a man, was at the scene and taken into custody, Schmidtknecht said. A teenager in the house was unharmed, he said. The sheriff declined to identify the victim, the man or the teenager, or to list the address, or to offer details except that he regarded the case as a homicide. The incident was isolated and contained, the sheriff said, and the public was not at risk.
