WINONA, Minn. – Winona State appointed Marshall Erickson, who has a career launching and nurturing business startups, as the university’s director of community engagement. Erickson will be housed in the College of Business. His job description: Expand existing efforts in entrepreneurship, especially with a rural focus. Erickson said he hopes to work on “the next level of entrepreneurial opportunities and resources for our students and community.” Erickson, age 52, holds a degree in business from University of Minnesota-Duluth and a master’s from University of St. Thomas. His base salary: $34,500. His predecessor at Winona State, Willard Kitchen, will serve in a newly created position – entrepreneur in residence.
