MILLSTON Wis. – The Wyman Lake fire was brought 99% control at 3,100 acres, the state Natural Resources Department said. Residents who had been evacuated to Black River Falls and Warrens were allowed to return. U.S. Highway 12 between Millston and Black River Falls was reopened. The wildfire apparently started on the northern end of Fort McCoy and spread quickly through steep and uneven topography across the Jackson-Monroe county line. Fire crews were expected to work overnight to keep the fire contained and watch for flare-ups.
