SPARTA, Wis. — A Milwaukee woman was charged with murder in the shooting of a Sparta man in June, apparently related, police say, to a drug deal. Bond for Damara R. Skenandore-Medina, 28, was set by Judge Todd Ziegler at $1 million. She had been arrested over the weekend in Milwaukee at the request of Sparta authorities. The deputy Sparta police chief, Booker Ferguson, said additional arrests were expected. The death was June 11. About 1 a.m. Sparta police found 61-year-old Anthony Koopman with a gunshot wound on the South Side near Hill and Court streets. Koopman later died from the injuries. He was a carpenter and construction worker.
