RED WING, Minn. – A woman was found dead in a Red Wing house after police talked a suicidal man in the house into surrendering. Police closed off an area at Western and Putnam avenues south of downtown in the afternoon. The three-hour stand-off ended peacefully. This was about 6 p.m. The man was taken into custody. After the arrest Police Chief Nick Sather confirmed there was no danger to the public. The chief declined to release details until facts could be sorted out.
