LANESBORO, Minn. – Lanesboro has been proclaimed the most beautiful small town in Minnesota by the travel site Loved Exploring. Lanesboro, population 750, is nestled in the bluffs of the South Fork of the Root River. The Love Exploring survey noted that Lanesboro is on the scenic 60-mile Root River State Trail for hiking, biking, kayaking and tubing. “Lanesboro’s quaint center is full of individual shops and bars, with a refreshing lack of chain stores and fast-food outlets,” the site said. The honor joins the Chamber of Commerce’s self-chosen claims to fame: Bed and Breakfast Capital and Rhubarb Capital Minnesota.
