MINNEAPOLIS— Brian Richard “Dick” Waite, 83, who was inducted into the Winona High School Hall of Fame for his wrestling and who later wrestled at the University of Minnesota, died at Mt. Olivet Care nursing home. Also he was an AAU national champion. He was a structural engineer for Ellerbe Becket, where he specialized in buildings and bridges. Among his projects: The main buildings at the Mayo Clinic, the Bethesda Naval Hospital, the Portland Trailblazers arena, the Kansas City Royals stadium, and a sports complex and ice arena in Moscow, Russia.
