WINONA, Minn. – Oil and pastel paintings by Northfield artist Frederick D. Somers will be on exhibit at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum through April 21. Somers’ works reflect intimate and peaceful views of grass, rocks and water with reflections of light and sky. Somers works mostly from his farm-home-studio near Northfield. He has taught at Mullsjö Folkhögskola in Sweden and at St. Olaf and Carleton colleges. He holds a master’s in fine arts from University of Iowa.
