WINONA, Minn. — Winona State opened a new major in public health nutrition, the first undergraduate degree in the field in the seven-campus Minnesota State University system. Students will learn to address nutritional needs of communities and diverse populations, said prof Janet Macon. Food insecurity and other nutrition concerns have grown with the CoVid pandemic, Macon said. The major is housed in the Winona State’s public health program, which was founded in 2012.
