WINONA, Minn. – With a sudden spike in students needing Covid quarantining, the Winona School System cancelled in-class instruction for eighth-graders and moved immediately to distance learning. Superintendent Annette Freiheit said the shift will be 1-1/2 weeks at least. That would be until May 3. In the interim, she said, athletics and most activities will continue as normal although not for students identified as close contacts with quarantined student.
