WINONA, Minn. – Forty-five students have signed up for the Winona Schools’ Online Academy for fall. The program, an alternative to in-class instruction, is administered by Arizona-based Edgenuity. The Schools contract is $62,400 for the semester. This covers six courses for 20 elementary students at $1,850 each and 72 other students at $325 each. Included besides virtual access are workbooks students and webinars for local coordinators.
Academy staffing
Online Academy enrollment initially is 16 for K-5 instruction and 29 for Grades 6-12. The K-5 coordinator is Melanie Anderson, a new hire. The 6-12 coordinator is Jill Nysse, a returning staff member. The principal is Jolene Danca.
