WINONA, Minn. – Financial planner Jenny Baertsch is launching her first book, “Junkyard Tough: A ‘Tail’ of Bravery,” at a signing Saturday at the Winona library. Time: 10:30. The book follows the adventures of a junkyard cat adapting to life as a family pet. The message, Bartsch said, is for everyone but the book is geared to kids 7 to 10. The book is illustrated by Baertsch’s friend Sara Pientok of Winona. Baertsche’s day job is at WNB Bank, but she says she had always wanted to write a book. Then one day she started and it all flowed out. She has self-published through Media Scope printing of Winona. Local school teachers and students helped edit and proof.
