LACROSSE, Wis. — A La Crosse pediatrician was charged with reaching under the dress of a 10-year-old girl, presumably for other than medical reasons. Charged was Joseph T. Poterucha, 40. At Poterucha’s arraignment the prosecutor told the judge that the case against Poterucha was strong. Reports by two other victims, perhaps three, were being investigated, said Assistant District Attorney Eric Sanford. Bond was set at $25,000 by Judge Scott Horne, who ordered Poterucha to stay away from little girls. Poterucha made no comments during the brief court appearance. The charge, first-degree child sexual abuse, was based on a report by the 10-year-old’s mother. Eric The criminal complaint said that Poterutha had denied the allegation.

Poterucha. Pediatric cardiologist at Mayo clinic in LaCrosse. Holds a 2009 degree from the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
