WINONA, Minn. – The president of Winona State, Scott Oson, said he was not surmised that a Zippia study found that the university’s graduates do well in their careers. Zippia, a career counseling service, and other analyses are favorable to Winona State, but there are variables in methodology among various analyses and even in-house tracking to preclude precise conclusions. Even so, said Olson, all independent findings support Winona State’s internal analysis. The Class of 2019, for example, he said, had 99.2% of grads in full or part-time work, with fully 97% employed in fields related to their degree. Additionally, he said, Winona State’s predicted rate of student success compared to the actual rate of student success—increased one percentage point in 2020.
