MEDFORD, Wis. – A mother of a 2-year-old who was hit and killed by a train as he played alongside the tracks only in diapers was charged with child neglect. Natasha S. Bratland, 31, of Lublin, was read the charge formally and told to return to court to plea December. Sheriff Larry Woebbeking said the toddler, Cortland, was under no supervision. The death occurred about 5 p.m. on June 29.

Toddler. Family rembers Cortland as “a little spitfire always looking for an adventure, who loved playing with his brothers Jossiah and Anson, and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, which he called “Crumbhouse.”
