PINE ISLAND, Minn. – A pickup truck on a ramp coming onto U.S. Highway 52 collided with an 18-wheeler one mile north of Pine Island. The truck driver, Allen Edward McColman, 65, of Caver, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Rochester hospital. The other driver, Loren Orelles Olson, 82, of Mazzeppa, in a 1999 Ford Ranger, was unhurt. Both vehicles were northbound toward Zumbrota. The accident was about 12:15 p.m.
U.S. 52 blocked. The semi-truck jackknifed and blocked both northbound lanes.
