WAUSAU, Wis. – A woman who professed innocence in the murder of her husband over a decade ago was sentenced to life in prison, Judge Mike Moran handed down the sentence against Cindy Schulz-Juedes. The jury had been unanimous about her guilt. The prosecutor said she did it to claim a $285,00 in life insurance. She told the jury she was devastated by her husband’s death: “He was my companion, my friend, my soul mate, my love, my future, my life.“ The trial brought out tensions between Schulz-Juedes, who now is 67, and the family of her husband, who was 74 when he died. The prosecution pointed out that Schulz-Juedes never allowed his family to see the remains and ordered cremation as soon as it was possible. She also left his family’s names out of the obituary, prosecutors noted.
Schulz-Juenes. Her husband was 17 years her senior.
