LONDON – Although news media in Rochester.Minnesota, failed to report the local death of Scottish performer Darius Campbell Danesh, British media have published stories from their own sources. His family confirmed the death to BBC. Danesh, 41, was in Rochester for treatment at the Mayo Clinic. He was found unresponsive August 11 in his rented apartment across from Mayo’s St. Marys hospital. In a statement to BBC, the family said:

“The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.”

Only after the British media reports, a week after the death,  did Rochester news media pick up the story. The London media The Sun and Metro UK also reported the death and noted that Danesh’s good friend Gerard Butler, aBritish actor and film producer, had been in Rochester and  visited him.
