WINONA, Minn. – Police stopped a man on a bicycle with jewelry that had just been stolen from a house on the 1100 block of West Mark Street. Kirk P. Peterson, 58, was booked on suspicion of burglary. Police said entry to the house, a block off Gilmore from Winona Mall, was by breaking out a window screen. Police were tipped by a witness who described the burglar. When a police officer approached Peterson, the officer said, he took off on a bicycle.
