MINNESOTA CITY, Minn. – Three Hidden Valley volunteer firefighters climbed 1,300 steps at the annual Lambeau Field 9/11 tribute in Green Bay. Making the climb and raising $700 for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation were Josh Malchaski. chief, Ulises Willy Hernandez, assistant chief; and Jackie Malchaski, assistant emergency coordinator. Six waves of 343 volunteers departed every 10 minutes up and down 20 series of stairs all around the field. The event was full of symbolism:
> 343 firefighters died in the World Trade Center attack in 2001.
> 1,300 steps reached the twin towers’ 78th floors, which was as far as any firefighters made it before the towers collapsed.
